Jim McKee New Album ‘War Baby Love’ and New Single Release ‘Shine’ October 15th
£13.99
Co. Tyrone singer songwriter and renowned artist Jim McKee is back after an hiatus of 8 years since his last album release. His brand new recording called
‘War Baby Love’ will be officially released with an accompanying single ’Shine’
on October 15th 2021.
The album features 13 very emotive personal tracks with one song written by the late Dublin artist Peter Dunne. Jim’s songs explore the lives, hopes and dreams of the many characters and places that have passed through his life. Stories of boxers, ex-pats, living through the troubles while also exploring the beauty of the west coast of Ireland where he spent a lot of his adult life.
The fabulous new single ’Shine’ reflects Jim’s positivity as he says “Don’t let anyone spoil your aspirations, dreams and ambitions. Do what makes you shine.” These words are echoed by Irish civil rights leader, former politician and Tyrone native Bernadette Devlin McAliskey.
“When the sun shone on the gardens of Rathbeg, poets, philosophers, painters, muses and musicians flourished from the seeds of communal hardship, sorrow and joy. Jim McKee’s work embodies the resilience and beauty of everything we always knew we could be”.
Jim is also a professional visual artist whose paintings have been collected and exhibited internationally.
In late 2020, Jim opened the Jim McKee Art
Gallery in the picturesque village of
Donaghmore, Co Tyrone where he sells his
paintings, prints and a range of
personally selected French antiques.
Jim’s paintings and songs are deeply inspired by his many travels across Ireland in particular the West of Ireland, France and the world around him.
The album was recorded at Star Lite Studios, Dungannon Co.Tyrone.
